Filter Media
Flo Trend® Systems
provides a wide variety of filter media for use in various
dewatering container filters. Filter media is available in
stainless steel, nylon, polyester, polypropylene and various
other materials. Standard mesh sizes (or equivalent mesh sizes)
range from 4 mesh (4750 micron) to 325 mesh (44 micron). Types
of weaves vary from the simple monofilament type square weave
(common to stainless steel wire mesh) to the more intricate
multifilament weaves.
The primary intent for
any filter media is to assist in holding back solids during
the dewatering process, not allowing any solids to pass through.
Selecting the proper mesh size or opening in the filter media
is determined by performing tests on sludge samples.
Types of Filter Media:
- Poly-2000
- Poly-2001
- Poly-2002
- Polypro-40
- 316 Stainless Steel Mesh
- Various Plastic Meshes
- Non-Woven Disposable
Poly-2000
Poly-2000 is offered as the
standard media for most sludges requiring flocculation. |

Polypro-40
Polypro-40 is a 40 mesh woven monofilament
carbon impregnated polypropylene filter media that is
sewn to a 4 mesh polypropylene support grid. |

316 Stainless Steel
316 stainless steel
- bonded wire mesh filter media. Most common mesh count
used is either 30 over 12 mesh or 50 over 12 mesh. The
12 mesh backing material gives the filter panel strength
and resistance to stretching. Polypropylene bonded edges
and support strips add strength to the filter panel.
|
| Applications:
- Can be used in all dewatering
applications
Patterns
- Offered in square mesh
ratings from 4 to 325 mesh with various backup
mesh

Non-Woven
Disposable Media
Non-Woven Disposable
Media - used primary as a disposable filter in applications
where filter cake is sticky and permanent screens cannot
be washed down after each application. The disposable
liner is placed into the Container Filter and secured
in place using hangers or hooks. Once the dewatering
process is complete, the dewatered waste and filter
are disposed of and a new filter is installed. |
| Applications:
- Projects in which it is
not practical to leave any residual waste
in the container when dumping the load, i.e.
specifically uses in which the dewatering
container may be taken in and out of different
plants/applications on a regular basis and
container must be totally cleaned up each
time.
- Uses in which the cake sticks to the reusable
filters, i.e., oily, greasy, waxy sludge
- Projects in which the filter media could
become contaminated by the sludge being processed
Patterns:
- 70 and 100-mesh equivalent
- Various thicknesses of
material are available
-
Disposable
